Do searches if you have concerns about java desktop applications. "If you're looking to build robust and efficient desktop applications, Java stands out as a powerful and versatile choice. Java, with its rich history and extensive libraries, is a popular language for desktop application development." |
You
will be taking a link to a page at Oracle. These programs are
done using Oracle's popular java language as desktop apps. This allows them to run on
Windows, Macs, and some other machines. The JRE is Oracle's product required to achieve this. There are different versions of it for various operating systems. Visit the Java website: Go to Java's official website. Click "Download Java For Desktops" Choose your operating system if not already chosen. Follow the instructions for downloading and installing the JRE. Once the JRE is installed, you can run any JAR file by double-clicking. I have not been able to try this on all possible machines. I suspect most users will get instructions they can easily follow. In some cases I have had to authorize an action because of default security procedures. |
The
WildWords program consists of a single file, WildWords.jar, of only 75K
bytes. You can click on the link below to download it. http://www.wildwords.us/WildWords.jar You will probably handle it as you have with other downloads. There are some differences between operating systems and their different versions. You will ultimately want a shortcut on your desktop or some other manner to easily find and run the program. |
The
TMaker.zip file includes a number of files associated with the program.
These consist of the program jar file, a number of special cursors, and
a number of examples that may be
generally useful. The first task is to download the zip file by
clicking on the link below. http://tmaker.site/TMaker.zip You will probably handle it as you have with other downloads. There are some differences between operating systems and their different versions. You may want to put the zip file in a particular folder. Once downloaded, all files must be extracted from the zip file. Try various clicks (left, double, right) on it's name to find such an option and choose it. The files will generally be extracted into a subfolder with the name TMaker. In that folder will be TMaker.jar which is the program to run. You will ultimately want a shortcut on your desktop or some other manner to easily find and run the program. Also, you will probably create another folder in which to store your T/Maker table files. If you don't see a variety of cursors when running the program, you probably did not extract all files. Look in the TMaker folder to check. You should see 70 or so files there. |
